They went around the city, talking to folks at local barber shops and salons about the importance of voting, and particularly about the importance of women's issues in this election. Texas League takes Voter ID fight to D.C.

The Texas League of Young Voters Education Fund is in Washington, D.C. as plaintiffs in Texas v. Holder, the lawsuit that will determine the fate of the Texas Voter ID Bill. The state of Texas is suing in an attempt to implement a Voter ID Bill that could impact the votes of more than 2.4 million Texans.

2011 Election Results

Tuesday's election was a good day for us. By the numbers:

- In Maine, we brought in 9,000 signatures to save same-day voter registration and handed out 36,000 voter guides.
- The San Francisco League distributed 60,000 copies of their thirteenth voter guide.
- In Ohio, we turned out 1,900 voters to help defeat Issue #2 and protect workers' rights.

Maine Voting Rights

The People's Veto Begins in Maine

During the last legislative session, the Maine legislature passed a bill that ended same-day voter registration in the state. Since then, the Maine League actively started a grassroots campaign with a coalition of groups to repeal the irresponsible bill.
