Create your own Vote Mob – TC League Endorsements Finalized

Whew! We spent several weeks researching candidates, calling offices, constituents and co-workers, & checking voting records for the Twin Cities League Endorsement Slate. After weeks of hard work the Slate (aka Progressive Voter Cheat Sheet) is finally done!

We put so much effort into this slate because it’s the tool we always wished we’d had. We know what it’s like to go into a voting booth and think you’re voting for president, or senator – only to see a ton of other races down the ballot we didn’t even know about. We know what it’s like to stare at a ballot sheet for several minutes at names that mean absolutely nothing to you. We know what it’s like to not know what the hell the Soil & Water Commissioner does, let alone who would do it best.

But this slate isn’t only about letting you know who we think best represents youth & our issues – it’s also about Election Protection. It’s about giving young folks in the Twin Cities tools so they are not intimidated by the ballot when they go to vote. So we can vote the entire ballot with confidence – not wild guesses or because we like someone’s name (let’s be real, some of us have done it).

You can see the endorsement slate for the Twin Cities online at The Ballot.org, AND – 10,000 hard copies will be available Wednesday.

This is where YOU come in! We need a whole cadre pissed off young people to help us distribute the slates and getting people to sign on in support.

There are a couple ways to do this:

1) Commit to getting the slate into the hands of ALL of your Twin Cities friends. We’ll provide the slates and some training about how to use it and how to talk about it. You’ll take it from there. You can also organize your people online.

2) Vote Mob with us.  Vote Mobbing means going any place where young people are. It can happen at 2:30pm on the rec center basketball court, it can happen at 8:00pm when folks are going into a mall, it can even happen at 2 in the morning when people are leaving to go home from the club.

To make sure the Slate gets into the hands of as many young people as possible, call Camille at 651-414-6040 or email her at Camille@theleague.com
