Profound Love and Respect to all Sisters and Brothers in the struggle.

Before we report our last 2 weeks of activity, the LYV-STL sends out our deepest sympathies to Nicole Paultre Bell and all the friends and family of Sean Bell. On Friday N.Y. State Justice Arthur Copperman handed down the outrageous decision to acquit Sean’s murderers. This injustice has compounded their tragedy, and prompts the question “ How far have we really come, in this country, when the lives of some Americans are valued less than the lives of others?”

The LYV-STL asks all people to concern themselves in the fight for justice for Sean and his family. We especially ask all League Members to study this case and to begin dialogue on how we can confront this issue, in Memory of Sean and all those who have suffered under this same brutality.

In operational news, the LYV-STL’s “operation earth day” was a great success. We registered almost 100 environmentally conscious voters and gathered almost 300 signatures to stop the abuse of eminent domain. Field Operations Coordinator Bradley reports that the campaign is nearly to its goal and is on course to victory and will likely be on the ballot for the Nov. election. F.O. Coordinator Bradley has gained thousands of signatures for the petition and has led the way in our V.R. effort, which to date has gathered 300 registration cards. Elements of LYV-STL have also been helping to stop the spread of an “anti affirmative action petition” which is trying to do away with hiring quotas. A special big ups, to all our League STL volunteers nothing is possible with out your help.

In I.A. (internet activity) and media news IA Director Jena has created a new line of signage that has defiantly raised our V.R. per day by 30%. With STL’s brand spanking new P.C. LYV-STL members are hard at work bringing our IA up to speed. The LYV-STL has events planned for every weekend of the summer so volunteer now to help bring positive change to our communities.
