Runner Initiative
Everyone in California especially Pissed OFF Voters need to know about the Runner Initiative:
The Runner Initiative, scheduled to be on November's ballot, if it passes will increase prison spending by over $1 billion the first year and over 20 billion over the first 40 years in California alone, worsening California's ongoing budget crisis.
The Runner initiative is being introduced by Republican
Senator George Runner (R-17) and southern California billionaire Henry
Nicholas. It will cost California billions while claiming that it will
increase public safety.
Instead of investing in community-based solutions to crime and violence, the initiative will divert money from public schools to prisons. Our public schools are already going through a budget crisis as it is!
On top of that it will strip rights away from "illegal" immigrants...
Its super crazy! And can not pass in California. This will further
streamline our society to push our young folks to prison
instead of placing resources into our communities and school system.
