Supreme Court Takes on Voter Registration

The Supreme Court begins their session this Monday and the Washington Post reports that the justices will consider whether state laws requiring voters to present photo identification at polling places unfairly discriminate against the poor and minorities. This will no doubt be a contentious battle and if voter identification barriers are validated by the court we will see a drastic drop in voter participation. Here at GoLeft, we, like you are dedicated to people taking fuller participation in our democracy and are anxious about the current court making this decision. Some organizations working on voter mobilization and fighting for full citizen participation include Liberty Hill Foundation and The League of Young Voters.
