Make College Accessible to Everyone

Sign the petition for free collegeYou can set college free: SIGN THE PETITION

If you think it sounds too good to be true, it's not:

There's legislation in the state house that would make this a reality for freshmen college students starting next fall!

It's called the REACH Scholarship (HB1722), and all Students who are PA residents with 3.0 or higher and a good attendance record would be eligible!

This program has already been implemented in Georgia for the past 10 years with great success.

It is likely to pass in the House, but the real challenge will come from the Senate.
We need all the petitions we can get to let them know PA supports equal-opportunity college education!

DetailsThe why of the REACH (Reliable Educational Assistance for College Hopefuls) Scholarship:

          • Gives a full scholarship to any in-state college or university to all PA high school students with at least a 3.0 and 85% attendance
          • Requires students maintain 3.0 QPA in college
          • After graduation, students must stay in PA for 4 years to help stop brain drain

What happened in Georgia with their HOPE Scholarship?

      • High school students who maintained the grade and attendance requirements went up 50%
      • Students had better SAT scores overall, up 60 points
      • More of the highest-scoring students stayed in-state: from 23% to 76%
      • The cost of tuition—which went up 132% in PA from 1987 to 1997— stayed low, rising only 16%
