Who’s Your Gov?

Tough Questions, Real Answers

Free and open to the Public

Confused about who to support in the governor’s race?  Come out and meet the candidates face-to-face before the Primary.  We’re hosting a Gubernatorial Primary Forum and this is your chance to meet the Democrats and Republicans that will be squaring off in the June 8th primary.

When:       Wednesday, April 14th
ReIgnite discussion about the election 6 to 6:45pm
Primary Forum 7 pm to 9 pm

Where:      Second Floor of the Portland Public Market House
                  (handicap accessible)
                  28 Monument Square
                  Portland, Maine

Who:        This event is free and open to the public. The moderator will be 27 year-old
Portland resident Brianna Twofoot.  All Democratic and Republican candidates have been invited to participate in this event.  Democrats running for office include:  Patrick McGowan, Elizabeth Mitchell, John Richardson, Steven Rowe and Rosa Scarcelli.  The Republicans running for governor include: Steven Abbott, William Beardsley, Matt Jacobson, Paul LePage, Peter Mills, Les Otten and Bruce Poliquin.  Independents have until June 1 to qualify for the general election and will not be a part of this event:  the League of Young Voters will hold a candidate’s forum for the general election later in the year.

Special note:  The League of Young Voters will hold a “ReIgnite” meeting from 6 pm to 6:45 pm just prior to the event so young people can have an open discussion about this year’s election.  The forum’s after-party will take place at the Empire Dine and Dance just following the event:  all are invited.
