Support the Green Jobs, Green Savings Bill!
the New Energy Jobs Alliance
Finding a good job or reducing your carbon footprint is difficult in
this economy--let alone doing both at the same time!
Unemployment, climate change, fossil fuel dependence…We've inherited an epic problem that we will be working to undo for the rest of our lives.
The good news
is there are relatively simple and tangible solutions. The League has
teamed up with Opportunity Maine to create the New Energy Jobs
Alliance, and focus on our Green Jobs, Green Savings Bill.
So, what does this bill do?
The Green Jobs, Green Savings bill will:
- make a huge, nation-leading impact on climate change.
- create thousands of new and lasting green economy jobs.
- raise
$300 million annually for entrepreneurs and other business
individuals-money that will go right back into our local economy.
- lower our energy costs and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
Send a message to our state legislators that the Green Jobs, Green Savings bill is the way to go!
As President Obama said, "This is our moment. This is our time." He couldn't be more right--it is up to us, the young people of Maine, to make it happen.
