Grassroots Activism in a Participatory, Digital Age is a two-day class/workshop that focuses on how nonprofit organizations and activist groups have found success in bringing together offline advocacy campaigns and online approaches to leveraging funds, volunteer power, and other kinds of support. Alex Steed (http://alexsteed.com), a student and teacher of how the Internet is being leveraged as a tool for social and civic change, will teach some fundamental approaches by using local, national, and global examples of successes and failure, by making tools and documents available, and by walking step-by-step through many of the processes. Further, we will be workshopping local campaign's tech approaches and needs. This event is organized and sponsored by The Maine League.
