To any biker folks who might be interested.
The morning class ( 9:00am - 11:30am) is Roadside Repair and covers how to prevent having to do roadside repair as well as how to deal with unhappy gears, chains, brakes and flat tires using just what you can carry with you on your bike. It fills pretty fast so use the links to the website to send us a note if you are interested. The class is capped at 6 participants so we ask that folks pre-register. There are a few slots left. Bring your bike and any tools you ride with. Folks will work on their own bikes so they can learn their equipment.
The afternoon class (12:30 - 3:00pm) is Introduction to Brake and Gear Adjustments and goes in depth with the both topics in a shop setting. For brakes it covers the types most commonly found, what to replace or reuse, how and how often. Plus it covers how to true a wheel. Then for gears it covers front and rear derailleurs, chains, chain and cog replacement, maintenance and how to use them so they last longest. This fills fast as well but at the moment there are still some slots left.
Each class costs $60/person and runs for 2.5 hours. They are open to anyone 15 or older and we have a deal for parents where they can bring their child and take the class with their child and we'll only charge for the child. Accompanying parents are free!
We have the use of a nice studio in downtown Bath, ME which will be fantastic. The coffee shop is at the end of the block, the waterfront park is across the street. Come join us!
