Keynote speaker: Jonathan Kozol, author and activist

Jonathan Kozol is a non-fiction writer, educator, and activist, best known for his books on public education in the United States. After being fired from Boston Public Schools for teaching a Langston Hughes poem, he became deeply involved in the civil rights movement. He taught for several more years in Newton Public Schools, before becoming more deeply involved in social justice work and his writing.
