Watch this video and help fight voter suppression in Pennsylvania!

You might have heard about some of the misinformation campaigns going on in Pennsylvania.  It's ugly stuff, like fliers telling people that if they have outstanding parking tickets or child support payments, they could be arrested at the polls.

It's infuriating.

And we're not going to accept it!  The League's sister organization, the League of Young Voters Education Fund, is preparing to launch a big election protection campaign to fight back.  They're raising money to hire and deploy 120 poll monitors for election day to cover the most densely African American and youth-heavy precincts in Allegheny County.

Help LYVEF ensure every vote is counted on election day.

LYVEF's 120 poll monitors are from the communities where they will be working, and will be trained to handle issues of voter suppression and intimidation at the polling place.  We expect them to be able to resolve the majority of contested voting issues.  But for more advanced problems, each organizer has a pre-paid cell phone to call teams of pro-bono lawyers who are positioned around the county.  Those lawyers will be dispatched to handle any problems on site.  No waiting for post-election lawsuits.  This year, we're determined to make sure everyone votes on election day itself.

Since Pennsylvania does not have early voting, we already know there will be over-crowding on election day, and we fully expect to see underhanded voter suppression tactics.  But this year we are going to be ready for it.

LYVEF is trying to raise $18,000 for this program.  To get there we need $5,000 more in the next two days - can you contribute?
