Election WEBSITE Intern -- League of Young Voters
The League of Young Voters, an organization that makes politics
relevant, fun and meaningful to young people, is looking for an intern
who loves the internet and is eager to help create and maintain content
on our website.
Responsibilities include:
* Keeping our website fresh with the latest League news and other
news relevant to the political and social justice work of the League.
* Scouring websites and blogs to make sure we stay in touch with what’s going on and important developments
* Making sure that we stay hot on Facebook, Myspace, and other social networks.
* Updating, maintaining and snaazzafing our online tools/programs such as our online voter guide tool and the League Blog
* Coordinating and following up with various staff and other
writers to contribute to the blog on schedule to maintain the blog
To survive in this job you must have / be:
• *really* on top of it. self motivated, reliable, responsible,
detail-oriented, *always on deadline*, always follow through
(seriously, don't bother if this isn't you)
• a good team-player, and also a good independent worker
• organized, able to prioritize time effectively, resourceful, able to multi-task
• quick learner
• excellent troubleshooter
• good knowledge of technology, internet trends, etc
• good systems trainer
• demonstrated commitment to economic and social justice
It's also good (but not crucial) if you have:
* Knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS)
* Experience with website administration and design
* Experience participating in internet communities and trends, especially political/youth/culture-oriented
* Good written communication skills for website content editing
* A general understanding of and capability with most things internet/tech
* A little bit of flavor. You don't have to overdo it, but you know. Something.

The League of Young Voters, an organization that makes politics relevant, fun and meaningful to young people, is looking for an intern to make a fresh video to represent the incredible work we do. You should know the basics of shooting, digitizing, and editing footage. You would be watching our collected footage, digitizing clips, creating a script, filming new content, and editing it all together into a fireball of video hotness. The outcome of this internship will actually be the League's official video -- so you need to have some flavor (http://youtube.com/watch?v=Vrh-p1q1Uww) if you are going to apply.
